In August of 2025, the OG Chief Kindling Kid, Alex Orloff, passed his axe (Plus hammers, splitting rings, a hydraulic cutter and 1,000 pre-made bundles!) to me, Gavyn Faris. I have been looking for opportunities to earn money while learning to operate a business, and The Kindling Kid was a perfect fit.  

 

Over the course of seven years, Alex created this business, built retail relationships, and provided kindling bundles to hundreds of families on the North Shore and beyond. I am excited to take over where Alex left off, providing the same high-quality product and customer service The Kindling Kid customers have come to know and expect.

A little about me: I am going into the 8th grade and have been playing hockey for the last 7 years. I developed a love for golf this summer, and when I can't find a ride to the course or the driving range, can be found riding my bike around town or swimming and fishing with friends.
